Consider us DeKalb’s best kept wedding secret. Since 1967, the Ellwood House gardens have been a memorable setting for outdoor wedding ceremonies. With beautiful gardens, intimate gathering spaces and one-of-a-kind backdrops we offer a unique outdoor setting for your special moment.

The Ellwood House museum boasts two beautiful garden spaces to host your wedding ceremony, elopement or vow renewal.
Our Wedding Garden places you front-and-center with the Ellwood House Mansion as your backdrop. With lush gardens framing guest seating, you will be surrounded by nature and mature trees as you make your way down the aisle.
Space available for parties of up to 80.
Available May 15 - October 15.
The garden wedding fee is $500. Discounts are available for use of multiple facilities.
No alcohol is allowed on the grounds. Outdoor rentals are limited to ceremonies only. Outdoor receptions are not allowed.
Berg Garden
Our other garden space is located behind the historic Ellcourt Home, which provides a stunning Tudor Revival backdrop.
The Berg Garden at the Ellwood House Museum is a picturesque and unique setting located on the Ellwood estate. Installed in 2013 through the generosity of Bill and Patsy Lundberg, the Berg Garden has become a favorite for couples seeking an outdoor ceremony.
Space available for parties of up to 80.
Available May 15 - October 15.

Garden Wedding Rentals Include
Use of gardens for the ceremony and for a rehearsal the day before
Use of the Hearthside Room in the Visitor Center as backup in case of inclement weather (chairs provided by Ellwood House Museum)
Use of Visitor Center restrooms
Use of grounds and building exteriors for photography
Museum staff onsite during events
